Jane Rabb
Jane Rabb has served on the Women’s Endowment Fund committee for the past four years and is excited about the opportunity to co-chair with Susan Rykiss. After graduating from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in 1985, Jane worked at CBC, followed by 7 years as an accountant for a large local land developer. Jane served on the Women’s Philanthropy Management Team for Combined Jewish Appeal for 6 years; she has been a volunteer canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society and the Canadian Diabetes Association for 14 years as well as a room-parent volunteer at Gray Academy for 13 years. Jane and her husband Jeff have three children, Haley, Justin and Matthew.
Susan Rykiss
Susan Rykiss has also served on the Women’s Endowment Fund committee for the past four years and is looking forward to co-chairing the next two years with Jane Rabb. Susan is the owner and publisher of Winnipeg Parent News magazine, the city’s only local parenting publication, which she started 17 years ago. Susan holds Bachelor degrees in Education and Physical Education from the University of Manitoba. Many will remember her from the 14 years she worked at the YMHA in the physical education department, developing and running fitness, aquatic and children’s programs. Susan still teaches aerobics, spin and aqua classes at the Rady JCC. She is married to Neil and has two sons, Matthew and Shaun.
Over the past four years on the committee, Susan and Jane have witnessed first hand, the great work that the Women’s Endowment Fund has accomplished, benefiting women and children in our community. “We are excited at the prospect of moving the WEF over the $1 million mark within the next two years with plans to educate, involve and inform as many women as possible about the great work the Women’s Endowment Fund is doing for families and communities in Manitoba.”
