The future of fitness has arrived in Winnipeg! The Rady Jewish Community Centre received a $15,000 grant from the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba for a unique exercise opportunity aimed particularly at teens. The XRKade™ is an interactive exercise zone that uses various game stations and programs to engage youth, both physically and mentally. With stations like Dance Dance Revolution, snow boarding, cycling and boxing, teens will enjoy a good workout and hopefully begin a lifetime habit of fitness.

"The grant from the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba was the key for this venture, allowing us to demonstrate that the project had merit and support to other funders and donors," says Gayle Waxman, Executive Director of the Rady Jewish Community Centre. "The XRKade room allows the Rady JCC to truly become a centre for the whole family. Kids who previously were too young to work out in our fitness facility will now have a place all their own at the JCC that is fun, exciting and different," adds Gayle. "We believe that this will allow the JCC to bring back the feeling of the old Y updated for the 21st century."
