Grants Guidelines
The Jewish Foundation of Manitoba distributes approximately $500,000 in Foundation-allocated grants per year with the average grant amount being $8,000. The following information will help you determine which JFM grant will best meet your needs.
DEADLINE:
JANUARY 15 AND JUNE 15 (NEW) OF ANY GIVEN YEAR
NEW FOR 2010: The Foundation will accept only one grant application
per granting cycle from any one organization.
Organizations that have multiple requests within the same grant category need only submit one application form which will encompass the various requests. This will streamline the process and eliminate the need for duplicate supplemental information.
Only registered charities in Manitoba are eligible for grants
from the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba.
Funding must be for projects within Manitoba.
Pilot projects must provide a plan for future funding beyond the pilot stage.
Projects will only be funded once.
Preference is given to projects which:
- address community priorities and issues;
- encourage more efficient use of community resources;
- strengthen internal management capabilities of the applicant;
- promote volunteer participation and citizen involvement;
- demonstrate innovative approaches and techniques to resolve community
problems.
Grants are not made for:
- projects or programs that are already in progress;
- fund-raising appeals such as memberships and sponsorships;
- ongoing operations of an organization.
If you have any questions regarding the application process, please see our FAQs page (click here) or call the Foundation office at 477-7520.
