Women's Endowment Fund Grants

The Jewish Foundation of Manitoba approved the following WEF grants:

BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF WINNIPEG
To support a pilot program that will cultivate meaningful relationships between teen mothers and trained
adult volunteer mentors and help link young mothers to social services, healthcare and
education with the guidance of their mentor.

B'NAI BRITH JEWISH COMMUNITY CAMP
To support new Canadians who have female campers interested in attending BB Camp for the very first time.

FORT GARRY WOMEN'S RESOURCE CENTRE
To fund workshops and consultations which will provide general legal information and resources to educate women in the community about legal issues.

GWEN SECTER CREATIVE LIVING CENTRE
To fund the promotion of the Centre's services to women in the community who may be socially isolated.
To fund the purchase of portable FM systems with individual headsets which will enable participants to better appreciate programs at the Centre.

MANITOBA SCHIZOPHRENIA SOCIETY
To fund a new program centered on recovery and self help. The program will feature five - one day life sessions on healthy living, creative development and personal achievement.

OSBORNE HOUSE
To fund the purchase of new furniture for three interim housing apartments.

SURVIVOR'S HOPE CRISIS CENTRE
To fund an awareness program that will: increase awareness of the issues of abuse, educate women affected by violence, and improve access to support services.
