Women's Endowment Fund Women Helping Women The Women's Endowment Fund, residing at the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba, is a fund designed to generate financial resources for the benefit of Manitoba women. It is a practical, affordable way to act as "women helping women".
2012 WEF Committee
When a group of women first sat down in 1993 to begin to develop the concept of an endowment fund that would exist for the sole purpose of benefiting women, they could hardly have imagined how their fledgling idea would quickly sprout wings and fly! The Women's Endowment Fund was launched in 1994. The concept was simple. Women (and men) would be invited to establish individual funds with a minimum contribution of $100. The accumulated capital would be invested, and each year the income would be used to provide grants for Manitoba organizations whose services directly benefit women. Since that time, the Fund has grown steadily, and currently over 677 funds have been established, with capital in excess of $1 million!
Each year, the Women’s Endowment Fund sponsors a spring luncheon designed to raise awareness about the Fund and to provide information and education on the topic of women’s philanthropy.
The Women's Endowment Fund offers a meaningful way to commemorate special occasions in the lives of loved ones with the establishment of new funds, contributions to existing funds or through Women's Endowment Fund donation cards.
