JFM NEWS & HIGHLIGHTS

A message from the Chair & CEO - COVID-19 UPDATE

by Drew Unger | Mar 24, 2020
To our community,

We write to you today hoping this letter finds you and your families safe and healthy.

Together, we are all learning from moment to moment how best to navigate the evolving circumstance relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Jewish Foundation of Manitoba is no exception.

We would like to let you know that through this tumultuous time, we are here. JFM services remain intact and we will continue to support our community in every way we can. As we closely monitor the situation, some staff will continue to work from our Campus office, while those who choose to will work remotely. As a further precaution, we encourage anyone wishing to contact the Foundation to do so by email or phone.

Our priority at the JFM is to ensure that resources will be available to aid in the recovery and sustainability of our community organizations and their operations and programs. Together, our Board and staff have made the decision that spring grants will be deferred at this time. This gives us the flexibility needed to create new granting criteria and policies that will give organizations the opportunity to apply for emergency operating funding. Our goal is to be positioned to act quickly and responsibly, so that we can efficiently and effectively assist organizations affected by this pandemic.

We continue to be guided by the JFM's vision of guaranteeing the growth, innovation and vibrancy of the Jewish and general community. We thank each and every one of you for your generosity, efforts and understanding during this difficult time.

Be safe and stay well.

Sincerely,

Richard L. Yaffe, Q.C.
Chair, Board of Directors

John W. Diamond, B.A., LL.B.
