The JFM is looking for community members
to join the group of volunteers that help
make us the foundation for the people
and organizations in our community. Our
volunteer committee members ensure that
representatives from our community have a
say in how the Foundation delivers its support.
Our committees require varying time
commitments, with each meeting anywhere
from two to four times yearly.
Committees currently seeking volunteers
include:
Audit & Finance
This committee oversees the annual audit
process including the application of sufficient
and appropriate internal controls.
The committee also vets the draft
financial statements and annual budget
for recommendation to the Board.
The committee is responsible for
recommending amendments (if any) to
financial policies, procedures and internal
controls to the Board.
Community Impact Grants
This committee distributes Foundation allocated funds to registered charities in
Manitoba, determining the recipients by
reviewing grant applications submitted
by both Jewish and general community
organizations.
Investment
This committee oversees the process of
investing and re-investing donor gifts of capital
with the objective of maximizing return at a
reasonable level of risk.
The Committee appoints a professional
investment advisor and engages with various
investment managers as part of its process of
overseeing allocations within the investment
portfolio.
Scholarship and Special Awards
These committees review applications for
available scholarships and awards which
encourage academic achievement and
volunteer contributions to our community.
Women’s Endowment
This committee distributes Women’s
Endowment allocated funds to programs and
projects in Manitoba that directly benefit
women and girls in our province.
