Mona Gray Creative Arts Scholarship



Deadline – February 28 of any given year

$5,000 per year awarded to one recipient *

Awarded to a student who is pursuing a university/college degree in one of the following areas: creative writing, film, fine arts, music, theatre, dance, interior design, graphic arts, communication design, game development art, digital media design or digital film and media production. This award is based on artistic achievement and/or merit, academic excellence, financial need and community involvement.

To be eligible for the Mona Gray Creative Arts Scholarship, an applicant:

  • Must be a Manitoba resident or former Manitoban who has been out of the province for no longer than four years;
  • Must show financial need
  • Must be pursuing a university/college degree in one of the following areas: creative writing, film, fine arts, music, theatre, dance, interior design, graphic arts, communication design, game development art, digital media design or digital film and media production.

Assuming the applicant meets the eligibility requirements set forth above, the following criteria will be used by the selection committee in awarding the scholarship:

  • Artistic achievement and/or merit;
  • Academic excellence;
  • Financial need;
  • Community involvement and/or volunteerism.
  • Priority will be given to graduate, 3rd year and 4th year students

Scholarships are awarded for studies commencing in September of any given year.

* The Jewish Foundation of Manitoba reserves the right not to award these scholarships on an annual basis. This is dependent upon the receipt of qualified applications as determined by the terms and conditions of the scholarship.
